119*, England v India, Old Trafford, 1990 :
England pile up 519 on a benign pitch, and India reply with 432 with Sachin scoring 68. It came at a time when India were fighting to save the game while in pursuit of a record second-innings total, and had lost more than half their side to reckless strokes. All hopes now rested on Sachin and all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar.
England stretch the lead to 407, and though the pitch is still good and the bowling Malcolm, Fraser, Lewis, Hemmings not terribly menacing, India find themselves in deep trouble at 127 for 5 with only one recognised batsman left. And the 17 year old biy does not disappoint. Tendulkar battles for nearly four hours, grimly but never dourly, and ends the day with 119. India lose only one more wicket, ending up with 343. With one more session, they might even have won.

114*, Australia v India, Perth, 1992 :
Sachin Tendulkar scored 114 off 161 balls with 16 fours, the bulk of them square cuts. He came in at 69 for two and was ninth out at 240, after 228 minutes, and a record ninth-wicket stand for India against Australia, of 81, with More.
It was to no avail, though, as India were bowled out for 141 second time around to lose by 300 runs, Tendulkar making just five.
On the third morning, as he ran out of partners, he scored his second 50 from 55 balls. While Hughes and Whitney shared the bowling honours, McDermott's two wickets took him past the series record for an Australian against India, jointly held by Richie Benaud and Alan Davidson with 29. In his second spell of Australia's second innings, Kapil Dev claimed his 400th wicket when Taylor was lbw.

With Australia's overall lead just 105, the match was still wide open, until Boon, Jones and Moody - who shared 173 for the fourth wicket - put it out of India's reach. Jones, who had disappointed hitherto, batted discreetly but positively for an unbeaten 150 in 265 balls while Moody, lethal off the front foot, took 101 from 149 balls.

169*, South Africa v India, Cape Town, 1997 :
Within no time, half the side was back in the hut with less than 60 on the board, and the skipper was out in the middle waging a lone fight. Then Mohammad Azharuddin strode out to join him.
He progressed to 100, then 150, and was the last man out to a spectacular catch from Adam Bacher, who leaped to pluck the ball out of thin air in one hand at deep square leg. India in dire straits at 58 for 5 and in come Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin and in no time start smashing the bowling all around the ground. They add 222 for the sixth wicket in less than two sessions, and Tendulkar has 26 boundaries in his score of 169. The result didn't go according to plan but the innings was a masterclass.

241*, Australia v India, Sydney, 2004 :
Sachin Tendulkar arrived in Sydney for the fourth Test between January 2-6, 2004, he had scores of 0, 1, 37, 0 and 44 in his five Test innings on the tour. He had a plan to come out of the slump and did so in a display of almost meditative restraint. Arunabha Sengupta recalls the 241 he scored nine years ago without playing a single drive through the off side.
The Sydney Cricket Ground has long been one of Sachin’s happy hunting grounds in Australia. With the series tied at 1-1, the decider assumed the proportions of a World Cup final, and the maestro was determined to sign off with a win.
Tendulkar’s innings began 20 minutes into the second session on Day One. Ten hours later, he was still batting on the third morning. When India declared the innings at a mammoth 705 for seven, he walked off after having batted 613 minutes, negotiating 436 balls without being conquered.

200*, India v South Africa, Gwalior, 2010 :
He batted through the 50 overs to see his team to 401 for three against South Africa, displaying all facets of his game. He made steady progress to a 90-ball ton before the fireworks began, with nine fours and a six in an uncharacteristic third half-century from just 28 deliveries.
He launched two more huge maximums on his way past the previous ODI record of 194 and having reached 198 with three overs remaining, displayed remarkable restraint to first block a ball from Charl Langeveldt and then reach his historic landmark with two singles.
